Royston Town Council Planning Control Committee unanimously decided to object to outline planning application for up to 99 houses adjacent to Therfield Heath with access via Echo Hill tonight. One Councillor said in his over 50 years on Royston Town Council “this is the worst application I’ve ever seen”.

Royston Says No to Gladman which represents over 350 residents, urged the Town Council to object like they did two years ago. “Fundamentally nothing has changed and looking at the planning balance, it is clear the application is a non-starter. The development site is fundamentally unsustainable due to the location and undeliverable proposed access”.

Thanks to the over 50 residents who joined the Councillors in their first Planning Committee meeting by Zoom.

The Town Council are a statutory consultee: this is a great result but we call on residents to object strongly to send a clear message to NHDC Planning Committee who will make the final decision.
